2001-05-19| 2:39 p.m. tom petty & pillows wow. went to a tom petty concert last night. it rocked. tom petty just kicks ass. had great seats too! i could see his guitar strings. although we had aisle seats right next to fucking security so we had to wait till after the concert to break out the pot. it was still fun. tom petty was on something. he kept dancing around with his arms up - telling us how great we were. he's grown a beard since i saw him in 99. bleh. men + facial hair = nasty. apparently the mayor here in houston gave him the key to the city & he said that the mayor was invited to come smoke one with them anytime. heh. tom petty rules. he played like a fucking 2 hour set - mostly old stuff (not off echo) although he did play one off of echo. he played all my favourites :D except for my favourites off of echo but that's ok. the wallflowers opened & miriam was convinced for a good 15 minutes that tom petty's guitarist was bob dylan. i laughed. there were copious amount of drunk people there. doing drunken people things. & i saw these two old grey haired guys tokin up during the concert - that rocked. i paid 32$ for a tshirt. so all in all this concert cost me about 150$ & i wonder why i'm broke. but this was very very worth it. i'm still sick though & i just feel run over today. i feel sleepy but when i try to take a nap - i can't go to sleep. it's really disappointing. i think maybe it's cuz my blanket is downstairs in the dryer cuz i decided to wash it yesterday. or maybe it's cuz i left my stereo playing. well whatever - the point is i couldn't sleep. i wanna go see a movie today. - i was supposed to go see shrek with mir & michael today but they had to leave earlier than they thought they did. so i'm stuck here on a saturday at home with not a damn thing to do. what a big surprise. i feel like i'm in high school again. sheesh. suzanne gets back in mid june i think or maybe early june so maybe i'll actually have a friend in houston. i should prolly start looking for a job on monday. or i'll be fucked. mentally composing a list of restaurants that i'd like to work at. i know i don't want to work in any place that sells seafood(if i thought the chicken smell was gross i can only imagine this) or mexican food (i like it too much) so i think i'll apply at taste of texas definitely. that'd be a really cool place to work at i think. i'd probably never eat steak ever again, but i eat like once a year now so i won't be missing much. on a totally different tangent - i love my bed at home. it's so big & comfy. i can roll over & not risk falling off the bed like at school (stupid twin size beds) it's amazing to me though because i have this huge queen size bed & i sleep on one side. in a very small spot. weird? what? i need to bring my pillows from school up here though - cuz i don't have enough. i figure 3 pillows on a twin size. queen is at least 2x twin size so that equals 6 pillows & i only have 3, maybe 5 if you count the frilly i don't sleep on them ones. ok well i have to go take my medicine & stuff so i'll stop here. ~ciao~ |
