01/24/2002| 10:36 am alanis has a new song. the world is over. finding a job is difficult. univ of texas has a job bank for employers who are looking for the college student types but there were only a couple jobs that looked decent and fit my schedule. one was working in a lawyer's office which would be awesome because i'm not entirely sure if i want to go to law school just yet but i am thinking about it. my only real qualms about law school are this: one, that it will be way too hard and i will fail and get kicked out and two, that i will lose my soul being a lawyer just like the business students. so back to jobs. i will tweak my resume and send it to a couple places on the ut website. also they're having a jobfair for ut/government jobs which is cool cuz i got a job in the erwin center box office from one of ut's job fairs. the erwin center for the non austin savvy is just an arena venue place. it was built for ut basketball games but also is host to things like concerts and ...job fairs. when i worked in the box office i got to see bruce springsteen for free (got a free shirt from his promotions people too) and also got to see the red hot chilli peppers way up close because they save tickets for employees. i had to pay for those though. it didn't really pay much but i could do my homework at work so that was cool. anyway i've got to shower before class so i'm going. kitty just walked into my room stalked something imaginary and then pounced it and bounded off it into the closet where i assume he is now. i love my classes this semester. they have restored my faith in psychology as a major, but i'm going to talk to my counselor about going pre-law. |
