04/27/2002| 4:00 am enchanted hike ....of doom? i tried 3 times to write this one entry but each time my computer denied me the freshmaker. so maybe if i am feeling lucky i will write about it in this entry. tomorrow...well technically today i am going on a 4 mile hike here. I have to get up at 8 to get my ass out there. it's 90 miles away. yes i know it's 4 am. i can do it. screw you. lots of water. and then a picnic. in the beautiful texas hill country. the park for the lazy non link clickers is called "Enchanted Rock State Natural Area". here is a bit about it: [The park] consists of 1643.5 acres on Big Sandy Creek, north of Fredericksburg, on the border between Gillespie and Llano Counties. ... The Rock is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome, that rises 425 feet above ground, 1825 feet above sea level, and covers 640 acres. It is one of the largest batholiths (underground rock formation uncovered by erosion) in the United States.It was a scared native american site back in the day. um anyway. i'm getting more tired. i will shower and go to sleep. yes. sleep. you really should check out the site for it. it's interesting history baby. |
